Sustainability Advisory Council |

The Sustainability Advisory Council was appointed in May 2008 to lead overall planning, goal-setting, coordination, reporting, and policy advising at Portland State University. Members include faculty, staff from many departments, administrators and students. The SAC generally meets once each month, while subcommittees and task forces meet as necessary.
Current Projects Subcommittees
- Communications - creates a clear message about existing projects/programs and desired goals/changes; develops a communications plan to build PSU's web presence
- Campus culture shift - Create and support sustainability coordinators and green teams in all academic and administrative units
- Finance and budget - Explores how PSU might implement a Green Revolving Loan Fun, develops n internal grant program for sustainability projects
- Curriculum and research - develop/advise on strategy for systematic integration of sustainability in curriculum (curriculum development training/grants), strengthen academic programs, develop strategic research agendas
- Neighborhood and regional sustainability - Promote and enable sustainable practices in the region
- Operations - Launch and support task forces on energy, water, materials and other issues; serve as forum for exploring how capital projects can incorporate sustainability
Task Forces - Energy - Develop an energy strategy for campus
- Materials - Develop a zero waste/materials management strategy for campus
- Water - Develop a water management strategy for campus
