Dear EcoWiki Community,
As we synthesize new knowledge and experiences from this term, the Portland winter transforms into spring. Some buds have started to emerge from within the trees and plants. Are you noticing the new surprises each day?
A few updates:
I've been working with our student staff and the Director of Student Activities and Leadership Programs to plan next year's Student Leadership Conference. The theme will be "change and renewal" and the focus will be sustainability. Although I can't quite share details yet, we are finalizing plans with a great keynote speaker who comes from the local community. More to come...
A snag has hit in the plans for healthy vending at PSU. One machine has been installed in the Student Recreation Center, but others are still on hold. We are moving within the inner system of the university and trying to understand contracts and work with vendors. If you'd like to read an opinion piece from one of our committee members, see below in the "News" section. We're going to keep working to provide additional choices for students. The good news - the Rec Center machine has consistently sold out!
This will be our last edition of the bulletin until spring term. Good luck on finals, and see you at the beginning of April!
Heather Spalding, Sustainability Leadership and Outreach Coordinator
