Applied Linguistics

The Applied Lingustics Green Team is off to a great start!  Their first meeting was held Wednesday, Feb. 18th.  The team recieved a presentation on recycling and waste management from the Office of Sustainability.  They brainstormed and decided their first goal is paper conservation.  Many great ideas were born such as making notebooks out of reused paper, placing trays next to printers to catch reusable paper, creating signage to encourage the reuse and recycling of paper, and assessing paper usage with the US EPA's paper calculator.  http://www.edf.org/papercalculator/

We're just getting started, collecting ideas and suggestions for our fledgling Green Team in the Departments of Applied Linguistics and the Intensive English Language Program. All staff are welcome to participate, and all ideas are welcome! We will post our plans and projects here as they evolve.
