Are you in a class, working on a project, or in a student group who could use some household item donations?

Through PSU Recycles! Chuck it for Charity event, we have captured a garage full of blankets, clothes, kitchen electronics, and other items. We sold many items at a rummage sale during Move In 2009 earlier this term and donated all money to charity, but we still have some items we would like to donate to a worthy cause!

If your good cause could use a donation of household items, please contact PSU Recycles! at 503-725-4392 to set up a time to look through our goodies!

Hello consumers of food!

We all eat food, and most of us spend a great deal of time on campus (probably more than we would like). If you would like to have a say in what food is provided to you on campus, be a part of the Aramark Food Committee! This is a great opportunity to voice your concerns about:

  • Transporting food from long distances
  • Organically grown produce
  • Naturally raised local meat and dairy
  • Vegan/vegatarian options
  • Healthy and satisfying foods

Please join the Food Committee to share your thoughts and ideas with Aramark, who provides a lot of the food on our campus!

The Committee meets every other Wednesday at 9am in Victor's (Ondine 1st floor). The next meeting happens to be on Campus Sustainability Day, Oct. 21st. See you there!

Carbon Economy Summit - Washington D.C. Trip PDF Print E-mail
Written by Damir

I went to Power Shift '09 last March with about 20 PSU students. Our purpose there was to see what the rest of the world (colleges.companies.non-profits) where doing to help advance public policies toward sustainability of our environment. We came back very inspired; we even wrote our state representatives letters.

I would love to have PSU treat this as another such opportunity. This time, we will have people go that will really benefit from the discussion that will take place behind the closed doors. I hope to see this turn into a chance for current PSU student that are working on environmental development to see what the rest of the world is up to; and connect with others in the US that are doing exactly what they are doing. - saving the environment!
