Student Sustainability Leadership Council (SSLC)
The Student Sustainability Leadership Council (SSLC) convenes graduate and undergraduate student leaders who represent student organizations, government bodies, campus centers, institutes, programs, campaigns, initiatives, and groups who already have a specific focus on sustainability issues OR who would like to include sustainability as part of their efforts. As a program of the campus Sustainability Leadership Center (SLC), the Student Sustainability Leadership Council:
-
promotes social, environmental, and economic justice
-
helps reduce the university's negative environmental impacts
-
engages PSU students in sustainability issues
-
serves as a collaborative coalition for student sustainability leaders
-
advises the Sustainability Leadership Center and participates in the implementation of policy changes for campus sustainability
Groups and organizations across campus can select a representative or interested students should speak with their department, institute, student group, etc. about being a council representative. Groups who are not currently recognized officially by the university are also welcome.
