Fall and Winter term 2009/10 Capstone "Renewable Energy and Community Development in Nicaragua"
We will be offering a capstone that starts Fall term 2009 with travel to Nicaragua from Dec 12 to Dec 22 (approximately). During Fall term you will learn about how NGOs operate, how to install solar power for homes and water pumping, and how to graft fruit trees. During the trip to Nicaragua you will help restore a watershed by planting selected crops and fruit trees, install solar power for a small community, and probably several other related projects that are just setting up now.
If you'd like to participate, you will apply through International Study Abroad office (the information will be on their website) and if accepted you will be enrolled in the capstone.
