Nature Guide Training Orientations (Choose one)
Thursday, February 7
9:00am - Noon
Saturday, February 9
9:00am - Noon

Do you
like working with children? Do you like the forest? Would you like to learn
more about how plants and animals are adapted to survive in this habitat here
at Tryon Creek?  Are you interested in how Native Americans used our
local plants for food, medicine, tools and shelter?  We would love to
provide you with that extra knowledge and only ask that as a trained Nature
Guide you share it in turn with children and adults who visit the park during
morning school field trips by guiding at least 10 times small groups of
children through the forest.

Meet here at the Nature Center and dress to hike.  For a
volunteer Nature Guide job description and answers to your questions and to
RSVP please contact Sarah Kreisman at (503)
636-4398
or sarah@tryonfriends.org.  Six more
training sessions will follow.

Registration is not required. Gloves and a light snack provided, but please bring your
own water bottle. Please dress for the weather as we work rain or shine.
