Composting at Summer Orientations |

PSU Recycles! is providing event composting services at this summer's Orientations for incoming Freshmen and Transfer students. Composting opportunities are provided at each Lunch & Resource Fair, with student Recycling Specialists providing assistance at the compost stations.
For about 15 Orientation events over the entire summer, these composting efforts will divert many pounds of organic waste from the trash. During the first 2 weeks of Orientations, over 300 pounds of compost was collected, compared to just over 100 pounds of trash. That is a composting rate of 75 percent!
The Sustainability & Recycling Office also have a table at each Resource Fair to provide important information to new students.
